1. RCB vs CSK 2025
The battle between RCB and CSK has always been fiercely-contested. Their longstanding rivalry means fans eagerly anticipate these matches; so much so, that tickets for this one sold out almost immediately upon going on sale.
Chennai Super Kings have come out victorious 21 of 36 encounters between them and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who managed 14 victories compared to 21 wins for CSK at home ground RCB’s own ground; however, lately at their own ground they’ve come out ahead with four straight victories over their crosstown rivals.
Kohli has excelled against the Yellow Army, scoring an unbeaten century at Chinnaswamy Stadium last time out and amassing 1,152 runs at an average of 38.2. Kohli will hope to keep up his great form when facing them again at Chinnaswamy.
Kohli will be integral to RCB if they wish to keep their playoff hopes alive, leading them from the front in this match. After showing his prowess with bat in their last outing against Mumbai Indians, Kohli will look to add more runs against CSK.
Even after losing early wickets, RCB’s middle order came to their team’s aid, fighting hard to limit CSK to 226, thanks to Faf du Plessis’ 83 runs and Glenn Maxwell’s 126 run third wicket stand. Finally Yash Dayal delivered some devastating death bowling that kept CSK batsmen quiet before wrapping up their innings to seal victory for the hosts.
2. RCB vs CSK 2026
Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally won their inaugural IPL title last season after years of waiting, opting instead for continuity instead of rebuilding this season and keeping most of their championship-winning squad intact. At the mini auction they made some targeted additions – New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy as backup for Josh Hazlewood and all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer for Rs7 crore were among these. Nonetheless they released two players: Liam Livingstone and Lungi Ngidi were let go.
But Royal Challengers Bangalore will face an uphill struggle defending their crown, beginning with two away matches against Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad before traveling all the way northeast for Guwahati before making an important trip down south again for Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Apart from facing away matches, Royal Challengers Bangalore must also deal with the fact that M Chinnaswamy Stadium will remain under construction throughout most of the season, requiring them to play some home matches at alternative venues.
Renovations will likely have an effect on RCB’s performance, yet it remains uncertain how significant. Home form will be critical if they wish to win back-to-back IPL titles – only Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have ever done so, though RCB may still have a chance thanks to players like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers among their ranks. With any luck they’ll continue this form throughout their campaign as favourites to claim IPL 2026 glory!
3. RCB vs CSK 2027
CSK and RCB have faced off 35 times since IPL launched, with CSK winning 21 matches overall. But recently RCB have begun to reverse their standing; previously they struggled at Chepauk (remember Albie Morkel tormenting Kohli! ), but have won two consecutive matches there this season.
RCB batted first and made 106 for 2 before losing Kohli early to Shivam Dube; Dhoni kept their playoff hopes alive by hitting an unbeaten half century off 56 balls. Chennai bowlers proved too difficult a target, however; Bhuvi Kumar took two wickets during Powerplay while Ayush Mhatre also did their part to limit RCB’s run chase.
Rain has stopped play in 16 overs of their match, and is set to resume tomorrow. Despite the delay, this one should still prove highly-competitive; RCB batsmen have been performing extremely well and capitalising on that momentum can make stopping CSK difficult. MS Dhoni will hope to redeem himself after his under-par performance against RCB last time out; with support from players like Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo on board he should lead his side successfully in this vital encounter.
4. RCB vs CSK 2028
Since long, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been fierce rivals in Indian cricket. On April 5, the two will square off against each other at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium – this match being pivotal to each side’s IPL journey.
The match will commence at 7:30 pm IST. The Chennai Super Kings have made an excellent start this season and look like strong contenders to capture their fourth title, while their opponent, Mumbai Indians are yet to secure their first win of 2019. Led by MS Dhoni – one of IPL history’s finest batsmen – MS Dhoni leads his side into battle while Chennai Super Kings boast strong both on field and with ball. However, in order to reach final they need to improve their batting.
RCB had long held an edge against CSK when it comes to head-to-head competition, but recently their southern rivals have levelled the playing field and following their 43-run victory on April 5, RCB have taken over in terms of home ground victories over CSK.
CSK’s poor run has been due to injuries and lack of consistency in their final overs. Nathan Ellis’ absence has negatively impacted their death-bowling while Spencer Johnson’s injury has altered their team balance.
Both teams are currently tied on points at the top of their respective groups, but will need to battle hard in order to remain in contention for playoff berths. Both squads will likely make significant adjustments during subsequent auction windows; thus this match should give us an indication as to how final rosters may look when their results become known.
5. RCB vs CSK 2029
As one of the premier rivalries in Indian Premier League, RCB vs CSK matches are always high scoring and thrilling. While CSK holds an edge historically, recent performances have evened out this battleground; three out of five clashes between them have gone to RCB with individuals like Virat Kohli (1,067 runs) and Ravindra Jadeja (18 wickets) contributing significantly towards keeping this war’s intensity alive.
M A Chidambaram Stadium will host the 36th clash in this historic IPL battle. While numbers suggest Chennai may have the edge in terms of strength in this rivalry, venue-by-venue evaluation reveals otherwise.
Bengaluru-based Royal Challengers Bangalore have an edge against Chennai Super Kings at home matches, winning 17 of 36 games against them compared with only 8 wins by CSK here at Chepauk.
At neutral venues, CSK have even greater success against RCB with 9 wins out of 14 matches at Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi alone. This trend can largely be attributed to CSK’s success at these locations.
Chinnaswamy Stadium hosted their latest clash between these sides and saw Royal Challengers Bengalurean (RCB) emerge victorious after 17-years by winning by two runs despite incessant rainfall, thanks to Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 84 off 42 balls which propelled their success and gave them an edge against CSK for top four positions this season. Their 5-4 IPL record and improved 3-1 record against CSK also gave RCB an edge against them for playoff contention this season compared with last season’s encounter between these teams, giving them both teams an edge against rivalry this season and giving RCB an edge against CSK in terms of playoff hopes this year and playoff prospects this year.
