Marcus Stoinis fell prey to Curran’s spell as well as Jos Buttler and Adam Zampa as Australia folded for 229. Tim Paine battled hard but England ran away comfortably winners.

England finally put an arduous run of bad luck at major international tournaments to bed by winning an exciting second T20I against Australia, highlighted by Jacob Bethell’s stunning coming-of-age century.
England made an impressive start to their chase in the powerplay, with Phil Salt and Jos Buttler both scoring half-centuries. Unfortunately Adam Zampa soon broke up their partnership by inducing Salt to reverse sweep back into Pat Cummins for 42 runs off 28 balls – thus effectively ending England’s chase.
But England were far from done; Livingstone and Moeen continued their efforts to put England on a firm foundation for victory. Moeen hit Zampa for six to hit world class six off lofted cover drive, only to be bowled trying to hit Short for four in the same over; after which England cruised easily towards victory with one-day wins without much fuss.

After an intense Ashes series, Australia and England met for a T20I at Melbourne’s Docklands Stadium. Australia were heavily favoured to win this matchup and fielded a team with players who had won both Ashes or World Cup titles in recent times.
